Could the impeachment of Trump come to fruition?
We can only hope.
Boy it has been quite the week in American politics! First the investigation of collusion with Russia, then the Session recusal due to his treasonist act of talking to Russia to sway the elections, the firing of Comey, and now, Trump trying to influence or impede the investigation through Comey, asking Comey “I hope you can let this go” referring to Flynn. The rabbit hole just gets deeper and deeper. One positive, Mueller has been nominated as special counsel to conduct an non-biased investigation in secret. No government influence allowed!
Does this crackpot, Trumplethinskin ever learn? Does he really believe he is above the law? Will Comey be able to prove that Trump was serious and not “joking”? Which in itself is a joke! Consensus is 50/50. Some say it is too hard to prove he said/he said and others say, notes/memos taken by an FBI agent, is a legal document and can be submitted into court as evidence.
If it is proven that he did intentionally try to obstruct justice, he will have to be impeached before he can be tried criminally. This could take years. If any of our readers where around during the Nixon era, you know that this process can be a lengthy one. We know that Comey was a consummate note/memo taker, so this may be quicker than expected.
And can he just get off Twitter already, really a “witch hunt”, “no other politician has been treated worse’ HELLO?!?! did you forget how you treated Hillary, you bully!
So what if Trump is impeached? Pence now takes the helm. Will we be in that old adage, be careful what you wish for, out of the frying pan into the fire? Pence is definitely a career politician and VERY Republication. What will that look like for the LGBTQ community? I guess we will have to wait and see. The only thing I am sure of is, we Democrats have to come out on full force in 2018 and take back our great nation! Because even though Trump promised to “drain the swamp”, he took that swamp and turned it into a cesspool of the 1% and that my friends is UNACCEPTABLE!
